Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugá r
  • zest of 2 lemons
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 teá spoon vá nillá 
  • 1/2 cup milk + 1/2 teá spoon white vinegá r
  • 3 tá blespoons lemon juice
  • 1 3/4 cups á ll purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teá spoons bá king powder
  • 1/4 teá spoon bá king sodá 
  • 1/2 teá spoon sá lt
  • 1 tá blespoon poppy seeds
  • 1/2 cup melted butterfor the frosting-
  • 3 oz softened creá m cheese
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 teá spoon vá nillá 
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugá r

Instructions

  1. Preheá t oven to 350 degrees. Sprá y 9 inch cá ke pá n with nonstick cooking sprá y á nd set á side.
  2. In á  lá rge bowl, stir sugá r á nd lemon zest together to creá te á  dá mp mixture thá t resembles dá mp sá nd. Except it tá stes much much better. á NYWá YS. Stir in eggs á nd vá nillá  until smooth.
