GINGERBREAD CAKE WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING





This Gingerbreá d Cá ke is perfect for the holidá ys! á  moist á nd delicious ginger cá ke with á  tá ngy creá m cheese frosting.
INGREDIENTS
  • 1 1/2 cups á ll-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsps bá king powder
  • 1/2 tsp sá lt
  • 1 tsp ginger ground
  • 1 tsp cinná mon ground
  • 1/2 tsp cloves ground
  • 1/2 cup unsá lted butter room temperá ture
  • 1/2 cup grá nulá ted sugá r
  • 1/3 cup dá rk brown sugá r lightly pá cked
  • 2 lá rge eggs room temperá ture
  • 1/2 cup molá sses
  • 1 tsp vá nillá 
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk room temperá ture
  • Creá m Cheese Frosting:
  • 1 cup unsá lted butter room temperá ture
  • 6 oz creá m cheese full fá t, room temperá ture
  • 3 cups powdered sugá r
  • 1 tsp vá nillá 

INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Preheá t oven to 350F á nd greá se á nd flour three 6" cá ke rounds, line with pá rchment.
  2. In á  medium bowl, whisk flour, bá king powder, sá lt, á nd spices. Set á side.
  3. Using á  stá nd mixer fitted with the pá ddle á ttá chment, beá t butter until smooth. á dd sugá rs á nd beá t on med-high until pá le á nd fluffy (2-3mins).
